I like to use the washable type of potty pads. I order mine from Puppy Pad Lady-click here. With multiple puppies, it is easier to use the washable versus disposable because puppies like to shred the disposable pads.

Dear Puppy Buyer,

As a dog breeder, animal health is my top priority. That’s why I enthusiastically recommend NuVet immune system builder to all of my customers. Simply put, it is the best nutritional supplement available today.

Hundreds of thousands of dogs and cats are using NuVet to protect against most ailments (from back yard pesticides, pet food allergies and hormones, toxic formaldehyde in furniture and carpeting, ailments transmitted from dog parks and the vet’s office, etc), while maintaining a beautiful skin and coat.
This is not just a vitamin. It’s an immune system builder with a precise balance of vitamins, minerals, omega fatty acids, amino acids and high-potency antioxidants. That’s why it works so well through all three stages of a dog’s life.

1. For younger dogs (under 2 years old), it strengthens their immune system, while building and strengthening the cardiovascular, skeletal and nerve systems.

2. For dogs in their prime (age 2-8), it improves the luster of their skin and coat while protecting against allergies, skin and coat problems, staining from tears, digestive problems, etc.

3. For older dogs (over 8 years old), it helps protect against, tumors, premature aging, cataracts, heart conditions, diabetes and many types of cancer, while extending the life and improving the vitality of many dogs.

I highly recommend NuVet Plus to keep your pet on the path to perfect health! It’s not available in stores, and is only available to the general public with an order code from an authorized pet professional.

To the long life and health of your puppy!

I found this article online and found it to be very informative – How To Stop A Puppy From Biting.

Feeding is one of the most important areas in your puppy’s development; it begins very early when the puppy is weaned and continues throughout its life. The food that a dog is given plays an important role in the muscle and bone development.

Your puppy is currently eating Nutrisource Small/Medium Food. . NutriSource® Small and Medium Breed Puppy is ideal for growing small and medium breed puppies (breeds that mature to less than 50 lbs.) and provides super premium nutrition in a scientifically formulated, easy-to-digest food.

Please note that Bichon Frise are grazers (meaning that they will only eat a few kibbles at a time throughout the day). Your puppy’s feeding schedule is as follows: I always leave a ½ cup of dry kibble available to the puppies during daytime hours. When I prepare the puppies for the day and give them their A.M. feeding and NuVet Plus Vitamins. I recheck their food periodically throughout the day and if needed, I will re-measure for another ½ cup dry kibble. The Bichon Frise puppies will have their food and water taken up around 7 P.M.. A young puppy’s activity level is high and you will want to be sure that it is eating enough to develop properly and steadily gain weight.

primalI also like to use Primal Freeze Dried Formula as a treat for training purposes. My puppies/dogs respond very quickly when I use Primal to train.

Remember to keep a bowl or bottle of fresh clean water near your dog’s food bowl. In order to develop good eating habits, allow your dog its own dining area. Feeding times should be at the same time and in the same place every day. Your dog’s food and water should be served at room temperature so that the food is neither too hot nor too cold. Snack foods such as cake, chocolate, and other junk foods or people food are not for dogs and should never be given to them. Other unhealthy foods include spicy, fried, starchy or fatty foods. Chicken, pork, and fish bones can also be very dangerous to a dog if eaten since they can cause intestinal damage and tear the stomach lining.

If you choose to make any changes in diet, do so gradually. Begin by mixing small portions of the new food with the one being replaced, until it is completely switched over. The amount of food that a puppy eats and the number of times per day that a puppy is fed changes as it matures. After you take your puppy home, an adjustment period may be needed of at least two weeks. I always recommend that your puppy should have the first two weeks of the same diet that I sent them home with until they make their adjustment to their new homes. Remember though, that it is very important that your puppy receive a high quality diet to ensure ultimate health.

You may need to make some dietary changes depending on your dog’s age, growth, and activity level; your veterinarian can assist you in making these adjustments, if necessary. If your puppy becomes sick, the nutritional needs will change. Consult with your veterinarian to make the proper dietary adjustments; vitamin and mineral supplements can also be given.

Not every dog training treat is right for your Bichon. Small dog breeds simply can’t handle great big dog treats and large chews.

Here are some things to keep in mind when choosing dog treats for your pet:

  • Size of dog treat – Bichon Frises do well with smaller or mini dog treats. Many dog treats come in different sizes. Check to see how large the treats are—before you order!
  • Hard or soft – As Bichons get older, many have difficulty with bad teeth. If your dog is now a senior with poor teeth and gums, you should consider getting soft dog treats, instead of the hard ones she ate as a young dog.
  • Flavors – While many of us have become very cost conscious, don’t forget your dog’s favorite flavors. Every dog will develop likes and dislikes, so don’t spend less money and get dog treats that your dog simply doesn’t like.
  • Age of your dog – Since most of us give our dogs more treats than we should, make sure that the treats are age-appropriate for your dog and they add nutrients to your dog’s diet.
  • Also remember to stay clear of grains in your treats.

Shampoo that I love is EZ-Groom Crystal White Shampoo.

    EZ Groom Crystal White Shampoo

EZ-Groom Crystal White Shampoo contains an enzyme complex that is designed to optimize the cleaning of your pet’s coat. The key to success is to activate these enzymes by heating the shampoo, and leaving it on the stained area.
Because some stains on coats have been there for quite some time, they may be difficult to remove at the beginning. Areas especially affected by such stains are the elbows, legs, paws, muzzle and face. These discolorations in the coat can be caused by such things as urine, saliva, tears and blood. Continued use of these products will keep these stains from reappearing.
To optimize the performance of your EZ-Groom Crystal White Shampoo, please follow the following instructions:
**NOTE: When following these tips, please be aware that any shampoo product in the eyes can be irritating. Please use extra caution in and around the eye area. After heating the shampoo, test the temperature by placing your finger in it. It should be very warm – but not enough to cause discomfort.
    • Only heat or dilute shampoo when ready to use.
    • Use full strength on all stains. Dilute for full body application.
    • Application method – This method can be used on the face area and around the eyes. Warm full strength Crystal White Shampoo, this can be done with a microwave or a hair dryer. Apply to stained areas and let set for 5 to 10 minutes. If the animal is agreeable, wet a small towel or wash cloth with very warm water, and hold over the stained area for 2 to 5 minutes. Repeat as necessary. Difficult stains may require this application during several grooming sessions. Any shampoo is irritating to the eyes – please exercise caution to keep out of eyes!
    • Application to paws – Stains on feet are usually set over a period of time. Heat the Crystal White Shampoo full strength and apply generously to the stained areas in between and around the toes. You can use a soft bristle toothbrush to do this. After application, wrap the paw in plastic wrap. Use a hair blower with a warm or hot setting on the paw. Remember to not let the dryer get too hot as to cause any discomfort.
    • The plastic wrap method can be used anywhere on the dog, however, never apply the plastic wrap to the head area.
    • A soft bristle toothbrush or Q-tips are good tools for applying solution to small areas.
